Design Thinking Workshop
OVERVIEW
The coaching and mentoring skills program is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive and immersive learning experience. It employs a multifaceted approach that incorporates role plays, dynamic presentations, interactive activities, and in-depth case submodule exploration.
Role plays allow participants to apply theoretical knowledge in practical scenarios, enhancing their skills and confidence. Engaging presentations offer valuable insights and context, while hands-on activities promote active learning and skill development. The exploration of case submodules delves into real-world situations, enabling participants to analyze, strategize, and problem-solve.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
ONE DAY WORKSHOP
- Build awareness about what design thinking can do and how it can be applied in the workplace, particularly around the improvement of existing services and the development of new products/services in existing areas of work.
- Understand the mindsets of a design thinker and key principles of deign thinking.
- Gain user insight through interviews and observations using the design thinking approach.
- Map product, service, or intervention pain points.
- Reframe challenges, articulate opportunities, and brainstorm new approaches.
TWO DAYS’ WORKSHOP
- Equip participants with the basic tools of design thinking and service design.
- Identify a core group of design thinking champions who might carry out a deeper design thinking project within the organisation.
- Hands-on experience with each stage of the design thinking process.
- Developed a deep understanding of potential users and their underlying needs.
- Prepared presentations to involve senior management at key decision points across the process.
- Developed an idea, created a rough prototype, and validated the business opportunity with real buyers.
- Created a brief business case for their project to argue for it to be moved to the next stage of development, which could be a pilot or commercialisation.
