Training in Advanced Fire Fighting

PRE-REQUISITES

All delegates must be in possession of a valid seafarer medical certificate issued by an approved practitioner, show evidence of attending STCW Basic Training.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

• This course covers the requirement of international convention STCW 1978 as amended and Code (Manila amendments 2010) Chapter VI, Section A-VI/3 and Table A-VI/3
• The Liberian Registry requirements on meeting the minimum standard of competence in advance firefighting, delegates will be competent to take command, organize and train fire parties and control firefighting operations.
• The seafarer will have acquired a knowledge of fire prevention and an ability to inspect and service detection and extinguishing systems and equipment and also will be able to investigate and report on incident involving fire.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

To successfully complete this training delegates must competence included knowledge, understanding, proficiency and demonstrating as the following:

• Control firefighting operations aboard ship.
• Organize and train fire parties.
• Inspect and service fire detection and fire extinguisher systems and equipment.
• Investigate and compile report on incident involving fire.

Who Should Attend

• This course is aimed at seagoing personnel designated to take charge and control of firefighting operations in an emergency. The emphasis of the training in organization, tactics and command.
